Novice Rider's School
For new and beginner track riders
Who is the school for?
Our goal is to welcome you to the exciting world of track riding and introduce you to the basic concepts of track safety, principles and etiquette. This school is for riders new to the track, riders lacking confidence as well as any novice track riders who want to get back to basics and improve their technique. Where you ride, what you ride, and at what speed you ride is irrelevant. If you are looking to improve as a rider, this school is for you.
Our Philosophy
Safety is our first and foremost priority. We use riding techniques adapted by some of the best riders in the world to teach our students motorcycle control and safer riding under any conditions. The riding skills learned and practiced throughout this course are not limited to use on track, we offer riders the tools for control that can be taken from the track to the streets. To ensure success in learning, we keep a low student-to-instructor ratio and give students plenty of opportunity to get answers to any riding questions they may have.
What to expect
The Novice Rider School begins with a drive around the track in a support vehicle where instructors will point out key reference points to look for around the track; brake markers, turning points, apexes, etc. Following the track orientation, riders will attend a mandatory rider’s meeting that will cover topics such as track entry and exit procedures, flags, passing rules, and other general safety measures.
After the rider’s meeting, students will return to the classroom to prepare for their first session on track. The first on-track session of the day will be lead-and-follow where the students follow an instructor for the entire session at a slow and comfortable pace to get more familiar with the track and the reference points mentioned during the track drive.
As the day progresses, there will be 25-35 minute classroom sessions following each on-track session between 10am and 2pm. Classroom sessions will cover basic riding skills and techniques such as trail braking, entering and exiting a corners, apexes, and body position. Students will have time to ask questions and discuss real life scenarios. During on-track time, students will receive one-on-one coaching from our instructors and practice what was learned in the classroom.
The afternoon sessions will give students an opportunity to practice on their own or grab an instructor for some additional one-on-one coaching. Our instructors will be available for coaching and to answer any of your questions until the last on-track session of the day.
